Annual French wind energy symposium in Burgundy

2011/02/17

Burgundy will host the next wind energy symposium to be held from 17th to 19th of October 2011. For this second edition, the French wind turbine association (France Energie Eolienne) has chosen Dijon to bring together its 230 professional members who participate in the development of the wind energy sector in France. The first edition was held in Bordeaux, on 14th December 2010. It brought together 450 conventioneers around three main themes : industrial development, local acceptance and the post-Grenelle 2 regulatory framework in the sector.

Burgundy’s Regional Council, which supports the development of clean energies, and specially wind energy, is pleased with this decision. The French wind energy association’s choice underlines the efforts that the region has made for several years within the context of its Energy-Climate plan as well as the support it gives to environmental protection.

The dynamism of the Burgundy wind energy sector was already honoured last 27th January with the procurement of the « Wind for Future cluster » quality label. By obtaining this quality label, Burgundy and the economic players involved have proved that there is a network of dynamic, job-creating SME’s in this region.

Bourgogne Développement has seen its actions in favour of wind energy confirmed by the geographical choice of this symposium.

This event which will bring together all of the most important actors in the sector in France, aims to create not only an interchange of technical data but also to develop a business exchange between decision makers and sub-contractors. The symposium will be the opportunity for the regional wind energy sector to promote itself and its industrial and technological advantages to French and foreign players.
