On Thursday, March 11, 2010, Burgundy Development and the members of its “Ambassadors and Experts of Burgundy” club met in Dijon for their first half-yearly meeting of the year. As they do at each meeting, they worked on an issue dealing with the theme of attractiveness.
Services, wealth that can be relocated
Mr. E.M. Mouhoud, Professor of Economics at the University of Paris – Dauphine and Director of the International Research Group of the CNRS DREEM (Euro-Mediterranean International Economic Research Development) presented “Services : An Opportunity for Territorial Development during the Economic Crisis.” Based on the fact that services account for nearly two thirds of the wealth created on the territories of developed countries, he thus performed an accurate assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of our territories during globalization taking service businesses into account.
Then, Jean-Claude Rousseaux, Director of Page Up, a Burgundy company with a dozen employees that develops software for mobile phone systems, outlined its development strategy during the economic crisis.
Become more effectively involved in the Burgundy economy
The 113 Ambassadors and Experts of Burgundy, by joining the Burgundy Development club, committed themselves to actively participating in improving the region’s attractiveness. To assist them in this mission Burgundy Development provided them an attractiveness kit.
