René and Yvan Garge (father and son), the directors of BARGE AVIATION will be investing nearly 150,000 Euros for the construction of ULMs and light aircraft, sold in kit form or ready assembled or under the Special Airworthiness Certificate for Kit aircraft (SNSK) Over the coming 3 years they will be recruiting some dozen staff.

A partnership for assembling ZENAIR aircraft under licence

This project is the outcome of the meeting of aeronautical devotees: René and Yvan Barge who are financing the project and Michael Heintz (ZENAIR), son of the well-known engineer from Dijon who built the first metal aircraft, the Robin HR-200 in the seventies. René and Yvan Barge give the reason for their setting up here. “Burgundy Development contacted us to present the skills that Burgundy had to offer in light aircraft grouped at the Innov’aéro cluster. As the meetings progressed, we became aware of Burgundy’s aeronautical environment and came to appreciate the professionalism shown by Burgundy Development and its partners Michael Heintz of ZENAIR adds: “As my father had worked with Robin, we knew all about Burgundy know-how in light aircraft”.
