Burgundy Development Agency wishes to anticipate market trends

Burgundy Development Agency conducted ten or so B to B meetings with companies and University of Houston laboratories. These contacts discovered a range of expertise specific to the Burgundy region : gas turbine and heavy component manufacturing for the nuclear and petrochemical industries, as well as wind turbine mast and ring production. Regional expertise which could lead to partnerships and the transfer of technology.

Through future partnerships, the region hopes to create a niche for its technological know-how in order to enhance its profile throughout new zones such as Europe, Africa and the Middle East - a host of rapidly growing markets just waiting to be conquered. The presence of Texan industries already set up in our region such as FMC in Sens and GE Oil & Gas (Thermodyn) in Le Creusot is proof of Burgundy’s ability to fulfil an intermediary role in terms of development within these markets.

A follow-up visit in 2011 will enable the practical details of these partnerships to be clarified and to meet other people involved in the manufacturing of energy components.
