IDS France SA has just obtained the US marketing authorisation for their high-tech in-vitro diagnostics automated analyser, IDS-iSYS, as well as their Vitamin D test from the Food and Drug Adminsitration (FDA). This opens phenomenal international development opportunities for the Burgundy manufacturing site located in Pouilly-en-Auxois.
A Burgundian « gazelle company » differentiates itself from its competitors
A few years ago, the French government set up a program to assist companies with fast growth potential, “gazelle companies”, a terminology inspired by Anglo-saxon countries. In Burgundy, IDS France SA, a company established in Pouilly-en-Auxois, in Côte d’Or, can be considered a « gazelle ». Indeed, it is a high tech company with a fast growth rate in the in vitro diagnostics market (equipment and products for biology laboratories). Located in the region for about thirty years now the company has only recently taken off, following important R&D investments from its Belgian shareholders implicated before 2007, investments which resulted in new patents and the creation of a new automated analyser, IDS-iSYS. It is this new automated analyser which determined the purchase of the company Biocode Hycel, by Immunodiagnostic Systems Holdings PLC (IDS-PLC) and on which the English group is counting for its development. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) marketing approval for the IDS-iSYS and Vitamin D test opens considerable growth prospects as 40% of immunological tests are performed in the USA.
