MMP France prepares for the future

MM Packaging France, established since 1995 in Monéteau, has massively invested in order to reinforce its uncontested position as the European leader of solid board boxes.

High-end Manufacturing Investments

Located in Northern Burgundy, at Monéteau, the French subsidiary of an Austrian group Mayr Melnhof Packaging, today has 190 employees, or twenty more than four years ago. A progression which is explained by a massive investment of 15 million euros over the last four years. MMP France has reinforced its Burgundy production location in order to maintain its position as the leader of solid board box processing.

The latest acquisition of MMP France, is a large Heidelberg offset press, costing over 4 million euros. An investment possible, thanks to the MMP group, which in 2009 realized a turnover of 1,6 billion euros with 5 600 employees worldwide. Dieter Allitsch, the Chairman and Managing Director of the Monéteau location explains: « It’s a wonderful production tool, modern, very large (100 x 145 cm) and most certainly one of the first purchased in France. We have mostly gained in productivity and in reactivity, crucial advantages for a company such as ours. Indeed, we can commit ourselves to very short delivery terms and our finished products can be delivered throughout France from Burgundy within 24 hours. »

MMP France prepares for the future

In order to perpetuate it’s position as leader, MMP France continues its march on the road to excellence. The company already has other investment projects lined up and in particular a robotic system for the palettisation of finished products.

The regional and local development agencies, Burgundy Development Agency and Yonne Developpement, moreover, use MMP France as an example, promoting the advantages of the Yonne Department and the Burgundy Region as much on a logistical side as on a human level (skilled and engaged labor) which allows the department, like the region, to position themselves as an essential pole of the packaging field in France.
